This week turned out to be unexpectedly rich in the variety of architecture I saw. From buildings at the University of Chicago, to the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Robie House, to some little ecotourism cabins in Maryland, I saw beautiful buildings at every turn.
Equally intriguing, if not as imposing, are these little ecotourism cabins I happened across when visiting the Deep Creek, MD area. The development is called Blue Moon Rising. The “tiny houses” look down from a height onto Deep Creek Lake below. I didn’t have the opportunity to see inside any of them this time.
These little cabins are arranged up a hillside, set a little distance apart, and very charming. I had no idea this development existed, so enjoyed it that much more on the damp Monday morning we visited.
