Thinking Ahead to Christmas (!)

Just a couple of weeks until Christmas in Historic Springboro! I’ve posted a link to info about this festival below — but it’s great opportunity to kick off the Christmas season. In addition to the craft vendors, local shops and parade, there will also be an opportunity to meet some local authors.

Local authors will be set up with their books at the Historical Society during the event — my time slot is on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30, and as usual I’ll be delighted to talk about my books or writing in general! There will be other authors there Friday evening as well as during the afternoons during the weekend.

Event info is at this link. If you’re local, stop by the Springfield Area Historical Society museum on Main Street during the festival! Dates are from November 18-20, 2022, and more details are at the link above.

Panel: Writing Great Genre Fiction

The 2020 Ohioana Book Festival is being held online this weekend, and I’m excited to be part of the Ohioana panel on Writing Great Genre Fiction!

The other authors participating are Sheldon Gleisser, Richard J. Norgard, TG Wolff, and John Vanek. The moderator will be Moriel Rothman-Zecher. Here’s a link to the Facebook page where you can see details about the panel, which will be held live online at 1 pm EDT on Sunday.

The book festival takes place throughout the weekend with various online panels. Here’s a link to the Ohioana Library Association’s preview of the weekend’s events:

Springfield Ohio Book Fair — Summer Edition!

The webpage for this event says, “Come for the books, stay for the beer!” Or alternatively, you could come for a beer and the food trucks that will be at the Springfield Ohio Book Fair, and stay to meet some of the local authors and check out the variety of great books!

I’ll be one of several authors at the Springfield Book Fair on August 17. The event is sponsored by Hen House Publishing, and it’s held at Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company.

Here’s a link to the event page, where you can check out the other authors at the event: https://www.henhousepublishing.com/2019-summer-book-fair.html. If you’re in the area, stop by!

A Beautiful Sunday at Authors at the Loft

After days of rain and severe storms, the weather turned out to be great on Sunday for Authors at the Loft at the Book Loft in German Village. I was fortunate enough to meet some new local authors and readers. Here are a couple of images taken by author Lasondra Burks.

Columbus Arts Festival

It’s almost June, and that means the Columbus Arts Festival is not far away. In addition to the many visual artists’ tents lining the streets, there is a “Word Is Art” tent where authors and poets read from their work. I’m happy to say that this year I’ll be on the schedule!

I’ll be doing a short reading (probably 10 minutes) from my upcoming new stand-alone fantasy novel, Taylenor. The time slot is from 11-12 on Sunday, June 9 — but the tent is active all weekend, and you can check out many other creatives reading from their stories or poetry.

Here’s a link to the arts festival website, with lots of visitor information, maps, etc. If you love art, and if you’re in the area, this is an event worth attending!

Also, this deer will be there (photo from 2017).

Authors at the Loft

I’ll be one of several authors at the Book Loft on June 2 for Authors at the Loft, an event that highlights independent and published authors. There will be opportunities to get books signed and readings at this free family event. The event is sponsored by YourBookMyBook.com.

The Book Loft is a Columbus treasure and a great place for an event like this! I’m looking forward to it! For more info, including a list of authors, here’s a link to the event page on Facebook.

Springfield Ohio Book Fair

The webpage for this event says, “Come for the books, stay for the beer!” Which sounds great to me.

I’ll be one of several authors at the Springfield Book Fair on February 10 in Springfield, Ohio. The event is sponsored by Hen House Publishing, and it’s held at Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company. I’ve never been there but I’m looking forward to both the books and the beer.

The event runs from noon to 7 pm. Here’s a link to the webpage, with location info and a list of attending authors.

Local Author Festival at Gramercy Books

I’m happy to join in with other authors local to the Columbus area at Gramercy Books’ Local Author Festival, Weekend Two! The event is on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27.  I’ll be there from 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday. I’ll have copies of Color Mage and Sword of Jashan, as well as two anthologies, available for purchase and signing.

Gramercy is a new independent bookstore in Bexley. After talking to the local authors, please check out the store as well!
