Late Autumn in Ohio

Things change fast during Ohio’s transitional seasons. I had to grab a few pictures before the golden leaves turned brown, the corn was harvested, the sedum darkened.

Ready for harvest.

Sedum in late October, after multiple color changes. I love sedum!

Sedum is one of my favorite plants! It goes through so many color changes, from just the faintest tinge of lavender at the end of summer to this deep red just after the first frost.

The air is crisp. It gets toasty warm during the day and cools down fast, earlier in the evening. This beautiful autumn is the reason many of us put up with the weather in Ohio the rest of the year!

I went exploring and found some cool seed pods and berries I haven’t paid attention to before.

Sweet Gum Tree pods — I never noticed these when they were green before!

This one I am not really sure about, but could be a Box Elder Maple:
