Columbus Arts Festival 2022

The Columbus Arts Festival is back in person on the Columbus riverfront! I love this festival, so that’s good news for me. In addition I’ll be joining several other authors on the Cultural Arts stage at the festival to read from our work. If you’re in the area for this wonderful arts festival, hope you can join us from 3-4 pm on June 11.

Here’s a link to the arts festival website with a lot of information on artists, performances, etc: https://www.columbusartsfestival.org

Hoping for good weather for the weekend!

Holiday Extravaganza!

More than 40 authors (including me) will be participating in the Holiday Extravaganza sponsored by Strong Women, Strange Worlds. Live Quick-Reads and round-robin Speed-Date-a-Book events on Zoom (Dec 12) will be accompanied by other December events across the Internet!

Find a new favorite author — discover a new book for yourself or for gifting — even win a free ebook or other prizes in this event. The live readings on Dec 12 will be accompanied by micro-fiction contests on Twitter and other events on Instagram and Facebook.

More updates to come! This online event is free, but you need to register at this link.

First Friday Quick Reads

Looking for a refreshing break in the middle of your work day? Strong Women – Strange Worlds presents a lunchtime Quick Read on Friday, July 2 at noon (EDT). I’ll be one of six authors reading from their work — six authors, eight minutes each, so the perfect length for a midday break!

The event is on Zoom and it’s free, but you need to preregister. Here’s a link to register for this or later readings.

I’ve attended two of these readings just because they were fun — and now I’m participating, along with some wonderful authors. Strong Women – Strange Worlds focuses on readings from women and underrepresented gender identity authors of science fiction, fantasy, and horror.

Hope to see you there on July 2!

Columbus Arts Festival

It’s almost June, and that means the Columbus Arts Festival is not far away. In addition to the many visual artists’ tents lining the streets, there is a “Word Is Art” tent where authors and poets read from their work. I’m happy to say that this year I’ll be on the schedule!

I’ll be doing a short reading (probably 10 minutes) from my upcoming new stand-alone fantasy novel, Taylenor. The time slot is from 11-12 on Sunday, June 9 — but the tent is active all weekend, and you can check out many other creatives reading from their stories or poetry.

Here’s a link to the arts festival website, with lots of visitor information, maps, etc. If you love art, and if you’re in the area, this is an event worth attending!

Also, this deer will be there (photo from 2017).
