I had a great time at yesterday’s event in Youngstown, Ohio. It was the Artists of the Rust Belt October Market, held in the historic B & O Station. Yesterday’s event was held in conjunction with Lawn-Con 5, a free local comic book show.
From where I sat on the first level of the station, I could see trains going by, though of course no longer stopping. The station, built in 1905, is listed in the National Historic Society Register. It’s used as an event venue now, and also houses a small craft brewery, the Rust Belt Brewing Company.
I spoke to lots of book lovers and a few aspiring writers, which was fun. Other cool things about yesterday’s event: live music, excellent artists inside the station and the comic book con outside, as well as some great cosplayers. Also, pepperoni rolls!
